3. Jhiram Ghati Maoist Attack – 2013

Maoists Attacked a Congress Convoy in Chhattisgarh

On May 25, 2013, Maoists ambushed a convoy connected with the Indian National Congress’s Parivartan Yatra in the Jhiram Ghati–Darbha area of Chhattisgarh.

The attackers blocked the road, triggered an explosion and opened fire on the convoy. The attack killed 32 people, including several senior Congress leaders, party workers, security personnel and others.
