Birth of Maithili Sharan Gupt
Maithili Sharan Gupt was born on August 3, 1886, at Chirgaon near Jhansi. He became one of the most influential pioneers of modern Hindi poetry and helped establish Khari Boli as an important literary medium at a time when Braj Bhasha remained dominant in poetry.
